Thank goodness for testing. That is the sentiment from Ray Price, owner of the defending NHRA Top Fuel Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Series Champion. Testing at Palm Beach International Raceway last week had some ups, but also some downs.
“Tommy Grimes and the whole team did great, performance wise. Our best run was email@example.com. But all week we were plagued by oil contamination problems,” said Price. “We went through three motors and stayed an extra day of testing to figure out what the problem was.”
The start of the NHRA Top Fuel Harley 10 race series is just a week away at the NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. This season the Top Fuel riders will race at four Nationals events, as opposed to only two in past years.
“Once we got back home to North Carolina, we were able to take everything apart, find the source of the problem and are working to get everything fixed before heading out West. I am so glad we found the problem in Florida – and not in Pomona,” added Price.
Ray Price not only owns a Harley Racing team, he is the owner of one of the most respected Harley-Davidson dealerships in the country. He has also helped form the Top Fuel Harley Racers Association which you can now find online at TopFuelHarleyRacers.com, on Facebook at Facebook/TFHarleyRacers, and on Twitter @TFHarleyRacers.
